The results of the local election 2009 were published on our website, Facebook page and Twitter stream as they were announced. In this section you can find a record of the results.
A county council election was held on 4 June 2009 and results were counted and announced on 5 June 2009. The Conservative Party took control of the council at this election. You can find out more details of the councillor for each area in the councillor profiles section (opens in a new window).
A European Parliament election was also held on the same day.

You can see the full results including electorate, spoilt papers and other candidate information by looking at the results by division.
On results day we also published results on micro-blogging network Twitter and on a dedicated Facebook page. The Twitter account (opens in a new window) is in continuous use so the results information can no longer be seen, however the Facebook page (opens in a new window) remains.
