Voting and elections
This section provides you with information on what you can vote for, why you should vote, how to register and place your vote as well as results of past elections and details of elections coming up.
County council elections take place every four years with the next ones due to take place in 2013.
Why vote?
When you are a registered voter you can have your say on who represents you on local matters such as:
your child's education
your roads, pavements and rights of way
health and social care for your relatives
your community
local services including libraries and museums
protecting your consumer rights through Trading Standards
When is the next election?
The next county council election is due to take place in 2013.
